Millstone 2017 Oloroso Sherry Cask – 46%

Barley, rye and other grains for his Millstone whiskies are milled in typical Dutch fashion. The fermentation, which lasts seven days, is longer than average and is followed by slow distillation in pot stills. The effect: fruity complexity. For the maturation of the raw spirits, Zuidam can draw on a wide selection of first-class barrels, which are stored at an Angels’ Share of 4-6% in the warm, dry climate of its own warehouse.

The Millstone Oloroso Sherry Cask, for example, is a barley malt whisky that spent its 5 years in sherry casks. Peaches and apricots are followed by oranges, chocolate sultanas and a little black pepper.
