Probably founded by James McGregor around 1824, the distillery draws its water from Cromdale Burn. After several closings, production started again in March 1998. The current owner is Inver House Distillers.

A 12-year-old Balmenach, which was given a sherry finish in a top Oloroso cask. A great drop with nice hints of milk chocolate, cherry juice and light herbs, which was bottled at 46%.

This whisky from the Balmenach Distillery was allowed to mature for more than 8 years in a first fill bourbon barrel. It was bottled by Alistair Walker in December 2021.
