Spanish-style rum is made from molasses and distilled in column stills. The fermentation time is relatively short and the aroma is characterized by light and sweet notes. Typical countries producing Spanish-style rum are Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Cuba, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
