The history of WHISK(E)Y is linked to the invention of distillation. According to tradition, it seems likely that Irish monks brought the art of distillation north with them from Sorento in Italy, then the cultural center of Europe. What was there and what was not needed as food was distilled, i.e. primarily grain. After an eventful history of whisky, the first single malt Scotch whiskys came onto the market in the 1960s. This archetype of the Scottish national drink is a focus of our range, supplemented by whiskys from all over the world.
