ERMURI was founded in Frankfurt on June 22nd, 1922 by Erhard, Mugler and Rinn. The first letters of the surname led to the ERMURI Händlervereinigung e. V.

The aim of the joint cooperation between the men was to create independence from existing branded cigars and to operate a market profiling strategy in order to stand out from the strong competition.

For several years, Scottish single malt whiskies have been bottled exclusively for ERMURI, which are sold at dealers in Germany.
