That Boutique-y Whisky Company

The portfolio of the independent bottler Boutique-y Whisky Company ranges from single malt whiskies to blended malts and grain whiskies to bourbon. TBWC works with distilleries from Scotland and around the world to create its products. Bunnahabhain, Linkwood, The Glenlivet, Paul John, Mackmyra or Slyrs are just a few examples. Casks of distilleries that have been lost, such as the Scottish Cambus Distillery, are also bottled. All products are small batches that are bottled at cask strength.

The owners Ben Ellefsen and David T. Smith love the unusual. This also applies to the design: graphic designer Emily Chappell does extensive research into stories, backgrounds and fun facts about the respective distillery and puts them on the label with a wink. On a Glenrothes bottling, for example, they depict the cemetery that is right next to the distillery – including the ghost that is said to have haunted the distillery a few years ago.
