The Glenfiddich (valley of the Fiddich) has a very special role in the historical observation of the single malt Scotch whisky. It was the one that was bottled and offered as SINGLE MALT in 1963 as the first whisky ever. The distillery, which was built by William Grant and his family in 1886, is still family-owned. The water for the Glenfiddich comes from the Robbie Dubh spring, as it did over 100 years ago. The other distilleries owned by the company are Balvenie, Kininvie and the Grain distillery Girvan.
