Ron Prohibido 15, the successor to Ron Prohibido 12, matures for 15 years in the solera process and is rounded off with a touch of raisin wine. Although the Ron Prohibido belongs to the rum product category, it convinces with its complex aromas and its unmistakable, soft and sweet taste.

Smell: Warm and intense fragrance with plum and raisin, plus notes of vanilla, wood, chocolate and nuts.
Flavour: Sweet notes of wood and raisins, chestnuts and prunes. Long and silky soft on the finish, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, chocolate and coffee as well as a hint of caramel.

El Ron Prohibido can be translated as “the forbidden rum”. The name fits the distillate from Mexico perfectly in two respects. The first ban, pronounced in the early 18th century by the Spanish King Felipe V, relates to imports – the second to the production of rum in Mexico. At that time, Spanish ships were constantly unloading goods to the former New Spain. Among other things, sweet wine that came to the colony that way. After being emptied, the wine barrels were refilled with the sugar cane brandy “Chinguirito” – the Mexican rum – and after a short stay in Havana / Cuba made the long journey back to Europe.
