This Kilchoman matured in mezcal casks and was bottled for the Kilchoman European Tasting Tour 2026. Accordingly, this bottling is only available at the tour stops within Europe.

The Mezcal Cask Matured Edition is one of the most daring projects of the European Tour. It combines the classic peaty character of Islay with the influence of mezcal casks, which lend the whisky a drier, earthier, and more exotic dimension. The whisky is 5 years old and bottled at 50% ABV.

The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.
