Founded in 1828 by the Reid family in Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre peninsula, Springbank was taken over as early as 1837 by the Mitchell family, who still own it. The single malt Springbank is distilled two and a half times with water from the Crosshills Loch and little peated malt: A blend of feints and low wines is distilled a third time. Springbank also produces the single malts Longrow (double distilled, more peated malt) and Hazelburn (triple distilled, unpeated malt). All whiskies are not coloured and not chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Notes of leather-bound books, bung cloth and dunnage warehouses are followed by sweeter characteristics of treacle, caramel and bramble.
Taste: On the palate there are notes of marshmallow and cotton candy, with a syrupy mouthfeel and subtle mineral note. The earthy tone from the nose carries through.
Finish: Notes of cocoa powder, cappuccino and mint linger in the finish.
