Cotswolds Flaxen Vale Batch 01/2023 – 53,9%

With the Cotswolds Flaxen Vale, the distillers continue their Harvest series. Once a year, a single malt in the series celebrates the beauty of the Cotswolds by marrying two art forms: Whisky blending and painting. Paintings by local artists adorn the gift boxes.

The Cotswolds Flaxen Vale has been embellished by the talented hand of Cotswolds-based artist Annabel Playfair. The single malt is as vivid as her landscape portrait. Blended from American Oak Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks and Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry Casks, it beautifully captures the lush and fruity Cotswolds character and reflects the tranquil grace of the surrounding countryside at harvest time in mid-summer.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Sweet dates and a hint of peat.

Palate: Caramel, charred oak, dried red fruits and toasted hazelnuts.

Late finish: Appetising with lingering wood tannins.
