The roots of the Chateau du Breuil go back to the 16th century. Originally built as a manor house, part of the estate was converted into a distillery in 1954.
With a collection of vintage calvados dating back to 1939, the Drouin house is the equivalent of Gordon & MacPhail in the calvados business. The apple brandy from Normandy is produced by double pot still distillation of cider, i.e. fermented apple must. At Drouin, the origin-protected speciality matures intensively in a selection of mostly smaller oak barrels. The house also experiments with finishes.

The Calvados 19 y.o. – Foursquare Angels is part of Drouin’s experimental range. For 17 months of its 19 years, the old Calvados Pays d’Auge was refined in a total of eight rum barrels. The limited bottling was created in cooperation with the famous Foursquare Distillery. The family-run distillery in Barbados has been producing rum since 1926 and is synonymous with authentic, genuine experiences. In the fourth generation, Master Distiller Richard Seale is successfully continuing the rich tradition.
Anyone who gets hold of one of the 2,396 bottles can look forward to a successful flavor combination in which baked apple meets exotic vanilla, brown sugar and dark chocolate.
