A distinct port wine flavour is exactly what you get with this A.H. Riise XO Reserve Port Cask. This blend is originally based on carefully selected West Indian and Central American rums whose final destination is port wine casks. It is in these port casks that the impeccable and distinct flavour of this XO Reserve Port Cask is created.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Vanilla and yellow fruits such as pineapple and banana come first, below which is a layer of drier red fruits, with a subtle hint of port.
Taste: The yellow and red fruits continue into the port-tinged taste, together with tobacco and cedarwood.
Finish: Rich and long with a harmonious, dry, chocolatey conclusion.

Albert Heinrich Riise was a Danish pharmacist and botanist. He lived from 1810 to 1882.

He began to sell rum at the time he was at the west indian islands as a pharmacist. His rum was exportet to a lot of countries and was very succesfull in Denmark.
