This bottling was released to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Sansibar Whisky. It features a 38-year-old Glenturret that was distilled in 1987. The whisky was aged in a refill hogshead.

Glenturret calls itself (as do a few others) Scotland’s oldest distillery, which is quite plausible, since a distillery stood on the current site as early as 1775. It has borne the name Glenturret since 1875. It is situated in a very picturesque location outside Crieff on the River Turret. The water comes from Loch Turret. It produces Famous Grouse for the blend, a fact that is prominently highlighted at the distillery itself. Visitors are welcomed to the “Famous Grouse Experience.”
