The whisky for this bottling was first matured classically in former bourbon casks. These were then blended and the whisky transferred to Caribbean rum casks for final maturation.

Original Tasting Notes:

Nose: Fresh and bright with aromas of raspberry blossom, coconut oil, Parma violets and custard Danish

Palate: Layers of muscovado sugar, iced buns and cinder toffee bound with lotus biscuits, nougat and coconut cream.

Finish: Sweet butterscotch and choclate eclairs fading into warming cake spice linger.

The distillery was founded in 1964 and is named like the highest-located village of Scotland. It is located in an romantic area near Ballindaloch. The water the distillery uses comes from the Ballantruan Spring. Most part of the produced whisky is used for making Blends, especially the White & Mackay.
