In 1909, the Baden Parliament commissioned the Baden Chamber of Agriculture to start up a training and experimental distillery in Oppenau and to produce a genuine, unadulterated kirsch, to market it and to make it known worldwide. For this speciality, the Kammer designed the square bottle shape that is still considered typical for Black Forest fruit brandies and is still used as a trademark today.
In 1923, Kammer-Kirsch was founded as a joint-stock company and in 1961 it was converted into a limited liability company. The company was based in Oppenau with today’s branch in Karlsruhe. Experts constantly tested and monitored the distillates produced, so that the quality brand name “Kammer-Kirsch” was soon created and has been further developed to this day. The company’s objective of producing only “waters and spirits” of the highest natural purity and exquisiteness has endured to this day.
