This year's Glen Scotia Campbeltown Festival Whiskey was matured for 9 years in first fill bourbon barrels before receiving a 6 Monday finish in the most exclusive Fino Sherry casks and was bottled at cask strength at 56.2% ABV. The Fino Sherry casks refine the malt with fresh and floral notes of citrus and light fruits. Sharp woody notes complement this with a long and balanced finish. This year's edition reflects the essence of Campbeltown: a touch of saltiness meets maritime nuances.

Icons of Campbeltown No.3- The Wulver: With the head of a wolf, the werewolf appears fearsome, yet behind his menacing appearance lies a gentle soul – symbolized by the wooden spear that carries the catch of fish for the Campbeltown community. According to legend, the wolf lived in a cave dug into a wooded hill, a place no one dared to enter. He spent his days fishing in solitude and generously shared his catch with the poorest members of the Campbeltown community, thus becoming a folkloric symbol of Campbeltown. Without ever expecting thanks or reciprocation, he became a symbol of quiet helpfulness – an attitude that continues to define Campbeltown today and lives on in the heart of the town – the DNA of Campbelltown. The 12-year-old Campbeltown malt was first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then refined for nine months in first-fill tawny port casks. Release No. 3 offers dark fruits, a rich sweetness, and chocolate notes – paired with the unmistakable maritime saltiness. Bottled at cask strength, non-chill-filtered, and natural color.

"In the north of Spain lies the renowned Spanish wine-growing region Ribera Del Duero DOP, where Tempranillo grapes are predominantly grown. This region is characterized by its powerful, dark-fruity and voluminous red wines that thrive in extreme weather conditions with hot summers and harsh winters. We are pleased to present you a new festival rarity from the Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia, which stands out particularly due to the rare availability of peated whisky. The peat smoke unfolds on the nose, underlining the typical maritime and smoky style of the Glen Scotia Distillery. In the finish, the tropical aromas develop into ripe, strong red fruits and juicy blackberries thanks to the finish in Spanish red wine barrels. A light liquorice sweetness harmonizes with the maritime character of Glen Scotia and gives the single malt a complex character with impressive depth."

Icons of Campbeltown No.2- The Dragon: The left arm of the Campbeltown Cross shows St. Michael heroically slaying a fire-breathing dragon with his spear. During the Victorian heyday of whisky production, fires in Campbeltown distilleries were not uncommon, much like dragons ravaging villages and castles in fairy tales. These difficult times brought the distillery community closer together, as demonstrated on December 17th, 1899, when Glen Scotia and heroic community members fought a fire at the Dalintober distillery and saved the distillery. Original Tasting Notes: As silky as the dragon's fire and as bold as our community spirit. Decadently smoky with hints of fiery red candied fruits and berries, the finish is long with a dry spicy endnote. A subtle maritime salinity leaves no doubt as to which distillery this limited edition comes from.
