Stauning Gin is a Danish dry gin produced with the same uncompromising craftsmanship as the whisky. Based on classic gin ingredients and refined with a finishing touch of locally harvested pine shoots, it has a pure, full-bodied flavour with a smooth, elegant mouthfeel.

The recipe is simple and well-considered, with no compromises. Juniper dominates, underscored by lemon zest and gentle spicy notes, whilst light herbal notes add depth. The pine shoots give the gin its distinctive character and a clear connection to Stauning – smooth, expressive and, in its restraint, unmistakably Danish.

Fresh, aromatic and wonderfully balanced: this gin is best enjoyed in a classic gin and tonic, finished with a twist of lemon to highlight the bright citrus notes.

What are four engineers, a teacher, a cook, a butcher, a pilot and a doctor? The founding team of the Danish Stauning distillery! In 2005 the friends decided to put a vision into practice: single malt based on the model of peaty whiskey from the island of Islay. Despite little whiskey experience, it was quickly followed by great praise: “If you continue like this, it could become one of the best smoky whiskeys in the world,” said whiskey legend Jim Murray when he tried the New Make 2006.

The distillers from Ringkøbing Fjord put Danish whiskey on the map and wrote a success story with it. Single malt, malted rye whiskey and Co. from Stauning are based exclusively on high-quality ingredients from the region and a variety of different barrels. Even the standard range of the Danes is therefore very diverse. Stauning brings even more variety into play with single cask bottlings.
