From 2013 to 2023, Yoshiharu Takeuchi realised a vision: to produce exceptional rum using artisanal techniques traditionally reserved for single malt whisky. At his Nine Leaves distillery in Otsu, Japan, he personally oversaw every aspect of production, from the fermentation of Kokuto whole cane sugar to the labelling – ensuring that Nine Leaves Rum reflects this dedication in every drop.
Following the closure of the distillery, La Maison & Velier acquired the entire stock. Decorated in the style of the Japanese card game Unsun Karuta, limited-edition bottlings are now bringing Nine Leaves back to life.
