The name Ardbeg means as much as 'little hill'. It is located at the southern coast of the whisky island Islay between Port Ellen and Kildalton. The location already has been popular for illegal distilleries. After a history with ups and downs including temporary close-downs the distillery was inherited by Glenmorangie PLC in 1997, which were themselves bought by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy in 2004. Today it is one of the most famous distilleries in Scotland, known for its smokey, peaty and salty bottlings with strong note of phenol. Two bottlings are named like the lakes the water of the distillery comes from: Loch Arinambeast and Loch Uigeadail. In 2015 Ardbeg celebrated its bicentenary.

The distillery lies north of Port Askaig on the Isle of Islay, right on the Sound of Islay. It was built in 1846 and since 1974 has had a completely rebuilt stillhouse expanded to six stills. The distillery, which offers a wonderful view of the Isle of Jura, is now owned by Diageo. Caol Ila is a good example of a "working horse" that produces mainly for blends, in this case for Johnnie Walker.

Glen Mhor is a Highland distillery that closed in 1983 and was finally demolished in 1986. Bottlings have since been traded as rarities.

The Glenfiddich was the first one that had ever been bottled and offered a Single Malt (1963). The distillery that was built by William Grant and his family in 1886 still is still owned by the family. The water that is used still comes from the Robbie Dubh Quelle. The company also owns the distilleries Balvenie, Kininvie and the Grain Destille Girvan.

Glenmorangie started producing in 1843 in an reconstructed brewery. In 1887 the distillery was completely new constructed. It is located in the northern Highlands in Tain. Stories tell that its whisky has never been sold for making blends. There used to be an old rule that claimed that there should always be sixteen men in the distillery making the whisky. This is why the distillery is also known under the name ' The sixteen men of Tain'. Glenmorangie even has own forests where it gets its wood for the casks from. Therefore it has a big impact on the development of using different wood and cask types during making whisky. Today the distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy.

This Rosebank was distilled 3 years before the closure, in 1990. Since then, the whisky has matured in a bourbon hogshead and was bottled at 50.5% in 2021.

This is the second release in Springbank’s Vintage Series. This year, a 1994 vintage has been bottled; the cask blend consists of bourbon, sherry and wine casks.

The distillery is the only one on the island Skye until today. It was founded in 1831 by Hugh and Kennth MacAskill and is located at the Loch Harport. The water the distillery uses, comes from fourteen different stills.

Already in the 15th century there were cattlemen who settled down at the place in the Highlands in Tomatin, were the distillery is standing nowadays.  It was legalized in 1897. Today the A9 connecting Perth and Inverness is near the distillery, which belongs to the biggest ones in Scotland. Most part of the produced whisky is used for making Blends.
