Whisky from Germany
Whisky from Germany has become an established part of the whisky world in recent years. Numerous German whisky distilleries now produce single malt whiskies and other whisky styles with a range of flavour profiles. The selection ranges from fruity and mild bottlings to robust, spicy and smoky whiskies. Alongside classic maturation in bourbon barrels, sherry, wine and other cask types are frequently used. Whether a standard bottling, a limited single cask whisky or a cask strength bottling, German whisky offers a versatile selection. Discover whisky from Germany and find the right bottlings from various German distilleries. Our range of German whiskies includes products from Elsburn Distillery, St. Kilian and The Westfalian, among others.
In the Elsbachtal valley, nestled in the mountainous landscape of the southern Harz, lies the Hammerschmiede. Instead of iron ore, the Buchholz family processes a different regional raw material here: barley. Since 2002, the spirits manufactory has stood for Hercynian Single Malt. Now the sophisticated whisky from the heart of Germany has received a special honour: the award as "Category Winner" at this year's World Whiskies Awards.

Made in the hammer forge in Elsbach, the only whiskey distillery in the Harz Mountains. The distillery style is generally considered to be mild, with a complex taste. Since a wide variety of drums are used for storage, the fillings differ considerably from one another.

Bud Spencer without Terence Hill is like Scotland without single malt. That is why St. Kilian Distillers is extending its licensing partnership and now pairing its "The Legend" with Terence Hill "The Hero": two whiskies celebrating the hard-hitting film heroes. For the new bottlings, St. Kilian Distillers married whisky with rum cask notes from its own stocks with triple-distilled whiskey from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, Ireland, matured in bourbon casks. The unpeated whisky turns out exotic, with the juicy sweetness of tropical fruit, bourbon vanilla and caramelised brown sugar as well as oak spice and a pinch of cocoa.
