Heartgow Winter 2021 Hercynian Single Malt Whisky - 48%
Made in the hammer forge in Elsbach, the only whiskey distillery in the Harz Mountains. The distillery style is generally considered to be mild, with a complex taste. Since a wide variety of drums are used for storage, the fillings differ considerably from one another.

Product information "Heartgow Winter 2021 Hercynian Single Malt Whisky - 48%"
With Heartgow, the hammer forge has created a new series of limited bottlings for 2021. At home here are the unique, anything but predictable single malts, which are always created when switching between batches or distillates. This results in completely new taste patterns that none of the other Harz series captures. The basis for the Hercynian malts: a mashbill made from smoked malt – smoked over peat as well as wood – and non-smoky malt.
Just in time for the first snow in the Harz Mountains, the team around Head of Distilling Anna Buchholz bottled the Heartgow Winter. Similar to the season of the ElsBurn Cozy Winter, the single malt is smokier and milder at the same time. He plays with flavors such as gingerbread and raisin biscuits, vanilla and caramel, the typical mocha note as well as orange zest, dark chocolate and fireplace smoke.

In the Elsbachtal valley, nestled in the mountainous landscape of the southern Harz, lies the Hammerschmiede. Instead of iron ore, the Buchholz family processes a different regional raw material here: barley. Since 2002, the spirits manufactory has stood for Hercynian Single Malt. Now the sophisticated whisky from the heart of Germany has received a special honour: the award as "Category Winner" at this year's World Whiskies Awards.

The Westfalian was made by the german stillman Wilhelm Nothoff in the "Feinbrennerei Northoff". To produce this whisky was the idea of Thomas Ewers (Malts of Scotland). The quality of this whisky is very high although it is still young. The Westfalian was medalled a few times by th IWSC in 2017.

Bud Spencer without Terence Hill is like Scotland without single malt. That is why St. Kilian Distillers is extending its licensing partnership and now pairing its "The Legend" with Terence Hill "The Hero": two whiskies celebrating the hard-hitting film heroes. For the new bottlings, St. Kilian Distillers married whisky with rum cask notes from its own stocks with triple-distilled whiskey from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, Ireland, matured in bourbon casks. At 49% vol., the peaty version of the Terence Hill whisky treats the palates of smoke lovers to aromatic wood and peat smoke combined with creamy vanilla, cream caramel, sweet molasses and peach.
