Under the brand WillowBurn – The Classic Hercynian Single Malt, the team of the Hercynian Distilling Co. brings together particularly spicy, slightly smoky whiskies based on a blend of light, non-smoky malt and smoked malt (25 to 50 per cent smoked over peat or wood). In addition to the vintage edition Ember, the Harzers delight with WillowBurn in various limited edition bottlings. One of them: WillowBurn Sherry Octave Matured.
The 5-year-old single malt from the Exceptional Collection was allowed to mature from the first to the last day in First Fill Sherry Octaves with a capacity of only 50-70 litres. These were previously filled with Pedro Ximénez sherry, the sweetest of the sweet wines, lovely cream and fruity Palo Cortado sherry. Its very round aromas such as malt, roasted almonds, orange marmalade and dark chocolate can be enjoyed by connoisseurs at 55.7 % vol. Cask Strength. In the high-quality wooden box, the WillowBurn is suitable for connoisseurs and collectors alike.

In the Elsbachtal valley, nestled in the mountainous landscape of the southern Harz, lies the Hammerschmiede. Instead of iron ore, the Buchholz family processes a different regional raw material here: barley. Since 2002, the spirits manufactory has stood for Hercynian Single Malt. Now the sophisticated whisky from the heart of Germany has received a special honour: the award as "Category Winner" at this year's World Whiskies Awards.

The Faro Feingeist whisky matured for over four and a half years in German oak barriques. The barley types chosen were Munich and Cara Red, and the yeast was Safspirit M1.

That is why St. Kilian Distillers is extending its licensing partnership and now pairing its "The Legend" with Terence Hill "The Hero": two whiskies celebrating the hard-hitting film heroes. For the new bottlings, St. Kilian Distillers married whisky with rum cask notes from its own stocks with triple-distilled whiskey from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, Ireland, matured in bourbon casks. At 49% vol., the peaty version of the Terence Hill whisky treats the palates of smoke lovers to aromatic wood and peat smoke combined with creamy vanilla, cream caramel, sweet molasses and peach.
