In Speyside, the heart of Scotch whisky production, this single malt from the renowned Macallan Distillery matured for a quarter of a century. Gordon & MacPhail, regarded for more than 130 years as pioneers of independent bottling, have combined the character of the distillery with their own expertise in cask selection. Distilled in 2001 and not bottled until 2026, this dram comes from single cask no. 20600305. Strictly limited to just 72 bottles worldwide, this release is a rare treasure for connoisseurs.
Even its appearance impresses with a deep mahogany hue that heralds the intensity of the aromas. On the nose, a lively play of citrus notes unfolds first, soon giving way to the weight of dark chocolate and autumnal spices. The palate reveals the full complexity of the long maturation: dried cherries and raspberries blend harmoniously with the subtle heat of black pepper. The finish is long-lasting and carried by elegant notes of toasted oak that underline the sophisticated character of this malt.
At 51.0% vol., this Macallan is presented unfiltered and at its natural colour, preserving its aromatic richness.
