Five years of maturation in American oak, French red wine and French cognac barrels
The 15.2 is an exciting counterpart to the 15.1. It is also distilled from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley at 108.2 ppm. However, it was matured in a mix of second-fill wine and second-fill ex-bourbon casks. Finishing took place in first-fill cognac casks. This trio forms the basis for an extremely complex and elegant single malt Scotch whisky with flavours reminiscent of nutmeg, toasted oak and caramel. The light, floral note that contrasts with the earthy smoke is particularly exciting.
