At the legendary Fèis Ìle 2023, Bunnahabhain presented an exceptional, smoky rarity: this 17-year-old edition was refined in a sophisticated combination of Oloroso sherry, bourbon and rum casks. The result is a complex single malt with intense smoky notes, sweet rum and raisin aromas and a spicy maritime depth. Bottled at cask strength at 52.6% ABV, it brings the whole soul of Islay to the glass.

The Bunnahabhain distillery is located at the kyle of Islay at the edge of the island in the northeast and lays that isolated, that there had to be constructed a long and curvy street down to the sea as it was built in 1881.The water that is used has its origin in an underground spring from the river Margadale and therefore it comes from Islay it has a relatively low concentration of peat.
Until 2003 it was owned by an descendant of the founder, Highland Distillers. Nowadays it is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers.
