This Ben Nevis was matured for over 13 years in a first-fill Tempranillo barrique and was bottled for the Old Friends series. The label on the bottle features the Wright brothers.

The distillery lays at the bottom of the Ben Nevis, the highest mountain of Scotland, located at the Western Highlands next to Fort William. It was built 1825 by John McDonald, a descendant of the Lord of the Isles. Between 1984 and 1990 the production was stopped, after Nikka took over the company the production continued one year later. The water for Ben Nevis comes from the Allt A Mhullin Burn.
