Nose
Leather, plum, redcurrant and barley malt, followed by toasted oak and hints of cinnamon, green apple and black pepper. The initially restrained and rather dry smoke is supported by red fruits, creamy porridge and heather and a little bit of pipe tobacco.
Flavour
The influence of the European oak is very clear. The Octomore 14.2 is dry and spicy with notes of toasted oak and roasted coffee beans. Gradually, a certain sweetness (fruitcake and dried fruits) is added, as well as a hint of black pepper. With a little water, the smoke and fruity sweetness of the wine barrels intensify, bringing out notes of apples and pears.
