The legacy of the Bumbu Original is not only historical, but also geological. Unlike most Caribbean islands, which were formed by volcanoes, Barbados was formed by coral reefs. As a result, the groundwater is purified as it passes through the natural limestone, making the water in Barbados some of the finest in the world.

This exceptionally pure water, together with carefully selected sugar cane from the Caribbean and South America, gives Bumbu its lightness and smoothness of flavour. Pure Bajan water is an ingredient in every bottle of Bumbu.
