As early as 1770, there was a distillery—called Dundashill—at the site where the Glasgow Distillery stands today; it was one of the first licensed whiskey distilleries at the time.
In 2014, Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward, and Ian McDougall decided to revive this piece of history and, as a result, founded the Glasgow Distillery. Today, it is one of the few urban distilleries in Scotland dedicated to whiskey production. With their four pot stills, they currently produce around 440,000 liters of alcohol per year.

In 2015, Kirsch Import personally selected this special cask. The unpeated single malt matured for ten years in an Oloroso sherry butt before being bottled in 2026 at 46% ABV—without chill filtration or added coloring. The result is a whiskey that combines the clean, fruity character of the Glasgow Distillery with the depth of an Oloroso sherry cask.
On the nose, notes of ripe cherries, dark chocolate, and espresso unfold, underpinned by a sherry-like sweetness. On the palate, it is soft and round, before finishing with a spicy hint of black pepper.
