For some people, this year’s Year of the Tiger pipe might look familiar, after all, it is the special model The Rock, whose production was discontinued four years ago. Rattray’s actually wanted to relaunch the pipe in 2021, but the sources of supply for large briar scantlings dried up almost without exception.

Now it has worked out after all and the massive Shape still stands secure as a rock.

The olive of the spigot-look metal appliqué is deeply laser-engraved with a Celtic-interpreted tiger.

In 1911, Charles Rattray, a trained tobacco mixer, realised his dream and opened a renowned tobacco shop in the old Scottish capital of Perth, which within a short time became the top address for tobacco lovers. In den Hinterräumen komponierte er erlesenste Spezialitäten, mit denen er die feinen Gentleman beglückte. The assortment was rounded off by a classic line of pipes, which he had produced for himself under his own name.
To this day, these are produced with great care from the finest woods by the world’s oldest pipe manufacturers.
