The beginning of the rum production in Panama was in 1936. The owner of a sugar mill started with distilling licor and later with rum. The production today is mostly aligned to the american market. Rum from Panama is loved by rum lovers for its strong but at the same time mild character which is often paired with a nice sweetness.
