The distillery Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown and completely rebuilt by his Sohn William in 1871. It is located in the Speyside, south of Elgin next to the Lossie and surrounded by forest. The water that is used for producing the whisky comes from springs of the Loch Milbuis. Nowadays Linkwood is owned by Diageo.

Only 1,228 bottles of this distinctive Speyside expression were produced, yet it is not the limited quantity alone that makes this single malt remarkable. It is the marriage of Scottish distilling artistry with the sun-drenched soul of Portugal—shining here in the glass with a warm, honey-hued glow.
