The Kilkerran 12 year old is the standard bottling from the Glengyle Distillery. It is matured 70% in bourbon casks and 30% in sherry casks.

The Glengyle Distillery was founded in 1872 in Campeltown, but it was closed down after World War I. In 2000 the owners of the Springbank Destillerie founded Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd. The old distillery was completely rehabilitated. Since 2004 Glengyle is producing Whisky again, which was the first reopening of a Distillery in Campeltown for the last 125 years. The name “Glengyle” may not be used for the produced whisky, which is why it is called “Kilkerran”.
