This Kilchoman is part of the Sistercask series, which was bottled on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft. Two casks were distilled and filled on the same day and bottled on the same day.
This whisky matured for 15 years in an Oloroso sherry cask and was bottled at 52.4%.

The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.
