Nestled between sweeping sandy beaches and the rugged beauty of Islay lies the Kilchoman farm distillery. For the inaugural release of the Family Collection, each individual expression was personally selected by the five members of the founding family. The series comprises four limited, curated cask compositions drawn from rare single casks.

This bottling is a 14-year-old Rockside Barley edition, distilled in 2011 from barley grown on Kilchoman’s own Rockside Farm and malted on-site. It has a phenol content of 20 ppm.

The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.
