Built in 1779, the villa still represents the Hampden Estate Distillery, known worldwide for unique production methods and a highly aromatic style. The Distillery Edition 2023 is the fifth homage to the old mansion. The blend of Hampden Estate rums with different ester contents is particularly expressive: permeated by a wide range of fruits, with medicinal and distinct smoky notes.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Lively and soft. Candied lemon, ripe banana, lychee, kiwi and Williams pear.
Palate: Temperamental and dynamic. Pear, coconut, agave, pepper, cane sugar, rhubarb and vanilla.
Aftertaste: Long and gentle. Tobacco, gentian root, salted butter caramel, raspberry and cherry.

Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling in the Trelawny region, the “Grand Cru” of Jamaican rum, for almost three centuries. The distillery’s heavy, unadulterated pure single pot still rums are known around the globe. Their full-bodied taste with highly aromatic ester notes is guaranteed by five strictly defined production methods – including fermentation with wild yeasts and maturation for at least eight years in Jamaica’s tropical climate.
