Duncan Taylor has its roots in Glasgow, where the company originally operated as a trader and broker of Scotch whisky casks within the industry.
For decades, the company has been acquiring casks from Scottish distilleries and now owns one of the largest private collections of vintage and rare Scotch whisky casks.
In 2002, Duncan Taylor moved its headquarters to Huntly on the edge of Speyside, Scotland’s largest whisky region, where it has its own facilities for cask storage, bottling, a cooperage and, very soon, its own distillery.
At that time, Duncan Taylor ceased ‘brokering’ whisky casks to distilleries and bottlers in order to focus on the production and marketing of its own brands and to diversify its portfolio with gin and rum.
