The 12 year old sherry variant of the Bowmore 12 years was refined in selected Oloroso sherry casks after it had already matured in Bourbon and Oloroso casks.
The result is a whisky with the typical subtle Bowmore smoke, combined with ripe pears, lemon juice and roasted almonds and peaches.

The distillery whose name means as much as ‘great barrier’ is located next to the shore of Loch Indaal in the center of the isle Islay. Founded in 1779 it is one of the oldest distilleries in Sotland, owned by the japanese Suntory Group. The water comes from the River Laggan.
