The distillery is located south of Wigtown at the riverside of the Bladnoch where it also gets its water from. It is the distillery that lays most southern in Scotland and belongs to the lowlands. It was found in 1817 and nowadays still is active.

With Bladnoch ‘Alinta’, Scotland’s southernmost distillery is opening a new chapter and introducing its first heavily peated Bladnoch single malt. ‘Alinta’ means ‘fire’ or ‘flame’ in the language of Australia’s Indigenous peoples, which is why David Prior, the Australian owner of Bladnoch Distillery, has chosen this name for his latest release.
For this small-batch bottling, only the very best first-fill PX sherry hogsheads were used – selected by master blender Dr Nick Savage – and the presentation is distinctly more upmarket, featuring elegant gift packaging and a heavy metal cap on the cork – exclusively available in Germany, as highlighted by the ‘Vibrant Stills’ sticker.
