The distillery Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown and completely rebuilt by his Sohn William in 1871. It is located in the Speyside, south of Elgin next to the Lossie and surrounded by forest. The water that is used for producing the whisky comes from springs of the Loch Milbuis. Nowadays Linkwood is owned by Diageo.

Tracking down premium casks of Scotch whisky – that has always been the focus of Elixir Distillers. Since 2002, the independent bottler has been releasing them under the name The Single Malts of Scotland. The range consists of outstanding, unadulterated vintage single malts from all Scottish whisky regions. In addition to well-matured single casks, these include the small-batch bottlings of the Reserve Casks series, whose “parcels” are blended from at least two casks each.
For Parcel No.8, Elixir Master Blender Oliver Chilton put together a package of 8 casks from the rarely officially bottled Linkwood Distillery. With an Angels’ Share of 14.1%, the Linkwood 2010/2022 matured a little longer than the decade indicated on the label.
