The distillery Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown and completely rebuilt by his Sohn William in 1871. It is located in the Speyside, south of Elgin next to the Lossie and surrounded by forest. The water that is used for producing the whisky comes from springs of the Loch Milbuis. Nowadays Linkwood is owned by Diageo.

“The single malt whiskys in the Flora & Fauna collection come from distilleries that primarily produce blended Scotch. They are rarely available as independent bottlings. The legendary whiskey author Michael Jackson gave the collection its name. Flora & Fauna alludes to the lovingly designed labels that adorn each bottle. Each distillery is assigned an animal or plant that is associated with it.”
