The release of the Machir Bay Cask Strength 2021 has been delayed for the past year, but it’s finally here. The same cask composition is used for the limited bottling as for the original Machir Bay – however, the Single Malt Scocth Whiskey is not subsequently reduced to 46% vol., but bottled at cask strength with 58.3% vol. This is how the unique quality and intensity of the whiskey from the Islay distillery Kilchoman come into its own.

The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.
