The history of the Marzadro distillery begins in 1949 in Brancolino di Nogaredo, in the heart of Vallagarina, in Trentino. An impressive area, interspersed with vineyards, which are “pulled up” with masterful care from the valley floor, which is partly cultivated with fruit trees, to the foot of the mountains. A pioneering start that consisted of tenacity, stubbornness and many promises that have been kept over time. Attilio Marzadro and his sister Sabina are the main characters in this story. Thanks to his extensive experience in growing the vines and his skill in adopting centuries-old art, he was able to win the best marc for grappa distillation. The Marzadro family already runs their business together with the third generation and has been able to maintain the traditional values even with a view to continuous renewal. Against the romantic background of the revival and preservation of ancient traditions, Marzadro presents itself as a dynamic, continuously developing company, whose production takes place with constant respect for a healthy environment and with the use of impeccable raw materials and the most advanced processing systems. In order to obtain the heart of this valuable vine mix, distillation is carried out according to the traditional method: in a copper still, the pomace is heated in a discontinuous water bath. The grappa then rests for twelve months or more.

Grappa Stravecchia, a symbol of culture, dedication and the art of distillation. Grappa Stravecchia is created by distilling five Trentino marcs such as Marzemino, Teroldego, Merlot, Muscat and Chardonnay, which are heated in a water bath and then pass through non-consecutive stills. It is aged in small barrels made of cherry wood, ash, oak and black locust, which impart to the distillate their typical characteristics of fragrance, aroma, color and taste.
The duration of aging reflects the rhythms of nature: 18 full moons pass, that is, 18 months. The fragrance becomes intense, ethereal and harmonious. The taste rounds out to leave a pleasant silky sensation on the palate. The color acquires a warm amber hue. The master distiller accompanies the maturation until the ideal blend and perfect harmony between wood and grappa. This is how Le Diciotto Lune Marzadro is born, a refined grappa to meditate.
