After exploring vibrant metropolises with Metropolis, Compass Box now takes to the skies with Celestial, the latest release in the Extinct Blends Quartet. With this luxurious bottling series, Compass Box reinterprets four of its favourite blended Scotches from yesteryear, drawing on some of its rarest and most original whisky stocks.

Celestial shows the heights that can be reached with the best blends of Scotch malt and grain whiskies. Inspired by a whisky from the 1960s, it is characterised by both a flamboyant profile and an equine theme, soaring like Pegasus into the heavens of flavour. Founded by one of the original ‘Whisky Barons’ and with strong historical links to a distillery on Islay and one in Speyside, bottlings of the brand from the 1950s and 1960s are highly sought after.

The blended Scotch Celestial is the peatiest and most complex whisky of the quartet, with a depth of flavour and maturity that has become the hallmark of the range. Heavy campfire and coastal smoke from Ardbeg and Caol Ila meet a gingery richness, vanilla, grilled apples and cooked tropical fruits from distilleries including Glen Elgin, Pulteney and Port Dundas.
