For the “2023 Batch Release” limited to 2000 bottles in the new Peated Collection, Master Distiller Dr. Nick Savage exclusively selected First Fill Amontillado Sherry Hogsheads, which were then bottled in a natural color, without chill filtration and in the usual Bladnoch Single Malt strength of 46.7%.
All barrels are from 2009 – here the previous owners of Bladnoch Distillery processed a batch of 18 tons of heavily peated malt once in their eight years of production. There are only extremely limited barrel stocks, which is why we are truly talking about a Bladnoch rarity here.

The original tasting notes:
Nose: Walnuts with smoky dried apricots.
Palate: Smoky and nutty, white chocolate buttons with walnuts and hints of herbal pine cones.
Finish: Sweet with delicate pine cones.

The distillery is located south of Wigtown at the riverside of the Bladnoch where it also gets its water from. It is the distillery that lays most southern in Scotland and belongs to the lowlands. It was found in 1817 and nowadays still is active.
