Single Grain Scotch Whisky of this style is intended for connoisseurs who appreciate the quiet passage of time and the elegance of decades of barrel aging. After 36 years in the warehouses, this whisky has achieved a depth that goes far beyond the typical profile of young grain distillates. It is an invitation to discover the often-underestimated complexity of this category in its most refined form.
Located in the heart of Glasgow, the Strathclyde Distillery provides the foundation for a special edition from the renowned Thompson Bros. of Dornoch. The label celebrates this urban heritage with a detailed, yellow vintage map that traces the city’s historic tram and bus routes—a visual testament to the authenticity of the contents. The whisky was bottled at 41% ABV, is non-chill-filtered, and displays a warm amber hue in the glass that was achieved entirely without the use of colorants.
On the nose, a bouquet unfolds, dominated by ripe peach and creamy vanilla, complemented by nuances of toasted banana and a hint of citrus. On the palate, this single grain is full-bodied and smooth, with notes of plum and coconut mingling with a subtle herbal spice. Particularly noteworthy is the long-lasting finish, which—thanks to decades of aging—develops hints of molasses and a sweet, spicy character reminiscent of the depth found in an aged rum.
