In addition to the well-being of the planet, Nc'nean follows another trail: innovative flavour experiences. Inspired by its namesake, the Gaelic goddess Neachneohain, known as a hunter, Scotland's leading organic distillery hunts down extraordinary flavours in the limited edition Huntress series. The warming, homely flavours of cherry marzipan cake, apricot jam, custard and a little peppermint tea of the Nc'nean Huntress 2024: Orchard Cobbler are among them in that the distillate used is only produced once a year. Unlike most distilleries, Nc'nean produces two different raw spirits each year: one for whisky that is younger in age and one for whisky that is to be released after at least ten years. The new Orchard Cobbler is based on a distillate from the distillation process in the week following the changeover to this recipe - a time when the cut points are changed and an unusually large number of fruity components are incorporated into the raw spirit. So fruity, in fact, that the single malt was named after one of the team's favourite desserts.
