The Octomore distillery was founded in 1816 by George Montgomery in Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. In 1852, Thomas Pattison took over the distillery, which was closed later that same year. In 2008, Bruichladdich had plans to reopen Octomore, but these plans were never realized. However, since 2008, Bruichladdich has been bottling a heavily peated single malt under the name “Octomore.”

Octomore 17.1 kicks off the Seventeen Series with an expressive blend of smoky and toasty aromas. Matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels, it brings together vanilla milkshake, Scottish confectionery notes, and warm vanilla pudding, along with pear candy and malt syrup. Dry, earthy smoke, smoldering oak, and ash build in waves. A salty note cuts through the sweetness and provides clarity.
This single malt Scotch whisky showcases Octomore’s characteristic interplay of intensity and finesse: powerful, precise, and
well-balanced.
