With Darkness, the name says it all: refinement in small sherry octave casks for at least three months gives the independent bottlings their naturally dark colour. The specially made casks (the size of about an eighth of a standard sherry butt) ensure plenty of wood contact – and wonderfully dark fruity, spicy profiles.
This 5 year old Dailuaine was finished in a Pedro Ximenez cask and has a cask strength of 55.8%. It is a pleasantly fruity, slightly sweet whisky.

The name of the distillery means as much as ‘green valley’ or ‘green grassland’. It is located in the Speyside at the southern shore of the Spey and was founded in 1851 by William Mackenzie.
